Flooded Lead Acid (FLA)
A Flooded Lead Acid (FLA) battery consists of lead plates immersed in a electrolyte solution made up of 35% sulfuric acid and 65% water. A flooded (or wet cell) battery contains liquid electrolyte and is commonly used in aviation, utilities, energy storage and cellular towers. FLA batteries are without doubt the best battery type to use for almost any RAPS battery bank. It is not unusual for well maintained FLA batteries to last 10 years or even longer with minimal performance degradation.
