Gel Batteries
Gel batteries mix sulfuric acid with a silica-gelling agent to convert liquid electrolyte into a semi-still paste, making the gel maintenance free. These batteries generally last longer than AGM batteries, staying in a high-performance range for most of their service lives.
Applications
Due to higher internal resistance, gel batteries are unsuitable for high current applications and are used for lower current loads:
- Radio Communications
- Radar Installations
- LED Lighting
